This game is really incredible, I've had the playdate for a minute but I didn't realize this game was out until a little later on. I am a locomotive engineer for a railroad in the United States driving freight trains. So this is one of my alley, I've tried the train simulator on the PlayStation which is pretty good but I found this is really amazing and I love it and the fact that it's on the handheld and it's easy to take with you and such a breeze to play. I love it under headphones because of how well the sound effects and voices are done in the recordings from the stations. I hope they carry this on into any future additions and give us more trains to drive throughout Japan. And more track and stations and maybe add on what we have in PTC in America which shows the elevation of the track somehow for us it's in the form of grades and turns on the screen. Of course on this game we're not seeing the ATC screen we're just seeing the windshield and a few of the dash controls. It would be neat to see the controls on the dash as well, just below the view screen. I know the view is limited but it would be neat to have a set of pseudo instruments around us. Or maybe available on different model engines on different lines.  Oh and weather! Sorry long. I really love this game.

My truck and my work engine!

I might have hit a bug? Catalogue version, if that matters. I did the tutorial first thing (well, I looked at the credits first), and then after that I chose Free Play, and it's doing the tutorial again for some reason. Does choosing tutorial from the menu not mark it as done?

Otherwise, I'm finding it enjoyable. It's easier than the train sim I played on PC, but that one was too challenging for a newbie like me, so this is good. :3

Really enjoying the game so far. The only issue I've had is that the E brake engages immediately after the hardest brake level. There's no buffer between normal brakes and the E brake even though the tutorial graphics seem to indicate one.

So if your Playdate is like mine and the crank calibration is off by a few degrees (which at least somewhat common) it means you're going to have to restart a few runs because the device thinks the crank is behind the device.

Otherwise the game is really great. Impressive work.

Love the idea of it... I notice when I'm playing using the PlayDate Mirror (so I can stream it) the audio is all static and keeps cutting out? It plays fine on the device, but just not in Mirror?

Any suggestions?

Make sure your Playdate USB cable is plugged directly into your computer, and that you’re using the USB cable that came with the Playdate. Mirror is very sensitive to USB bandwidth

This is lovely and the very thing that pushed me to finally get a Playdate, after looking forward to the console for so much time. Waiting for it to ship then this is the first game I'm going to buy!

Just my two cents by looking at gameplay videos: I believe the spline system driving the train/camera is not smoothing the corners correctly, the motion feels twitchy.

This is so much fun, I absolutely love and adore this game! Totally worth the purchase. The art and the voice lines, the smooth mechanics and crank implementation, it's all great. Still haven't gotten the "zero zero perfect stop" yet, but I've gotten close with zero time and 4 cm distance! I WILL GET IT! XD One suggestion I have for future versions would be a RTC (Real-time clock) using the device time (similar to Bloom) for the NOW, and calculating the according ARV time. Even if this was a toggle in the settings I think that would be amazing! Or maybe even just something for the free mode? Also for that it would be cool to have a version of free mode with the stops and speed limits that either keeps looping, or goes back and forth :) Also a reset button! Definitely having a blast the way it is though and can't recommend it enough!

perfect match. Vooce game and platform.

Can't wait to play this! Always been curious about the Densha de Go games but the language barrier always ruined me. Seems perfect for the Playdate

Looking forward to this!

Can't wait to see this

Hype.

A Densha de Go for Playdate? Count me in! I love it. I had this idea as well some time ago, but I'm glad to see someone beat me to it as I had no thoughts on how to implement. Can't WAIT to play it!
